Rainbow Petrified Wood
Look at the colors in this piece of raw petrified wood! The rich red, orange, and earth tones make this a stunning sacred stone that is ideal as an altar piece, collector's piece, or focal point for meditation and manifestation. This colorful specimen dates from the Triassic period, making it around 220 million years old! It comes from an ancient and extinct conifer tree called an Araucarioxylon arizonicum. This gift from Mother Earth measures 2 inches tall by 8 inches in circumference and weighs 4 ounces.
The name petrified wood comes from the Greek root petro, which means wood turned into stone.
From a metaphysical perspective, petrified wood possesses physical and spiritual healing properties that support the third eye (home of the far-eye in hoodoo) and the root chakra. I also find it useful for ancestral work because of its age and transformation for the manner in which it is formed. This fantastic piece of Arizona Rainbow petrified wood would be a perfect focal or periphery piece for a healing altar, lgbtq+ workings, or a divination support piece. For example, if you are doing a tarot card reading you can place this powerful piece of Rainbow petrified wood on the table next to you to enhance your psychic abilities. Or place it in your pillow and sleep on it overnight to focus your third eye.
We walk miles to find our raw fossils and stones. Each fossil and stone is washed and cleansed of debris and lightly oiled with a special ritual oil to bring out the natural sheen. Unless otherwise stated, all of our stones, fossils, and crystals come from our beautiful homestead in northeast Arizona, home of the American Rootwork Association.
