A Good Road to Follow Wishing Stone
Wishing stones are stones with a naturally occurring, unbroken quartz line that goes all the way around the stone. There may be other lines and inclusions, but to qualify as a wishing stone there needs to be a dominant unbroken line around the circumference. Sometimes the lines goes long ways. Finding such a stone is a stroke of luck in and of itself.
Legend holds that whoever possesses the stone can make wishes on it indefinitely, so long as the stone is not broken. Some say you can trace your finger along the stripe, close your eyes and make a wish. If you make a wish for yourself, it is said to come true by believers. However, if you make a wish for someone else, it is believed that wish will come true along with all of your own wishes.
This unique wishing stone makes a perfect altar piece that can be incorporated into spellwork as well as used as a magickal tool and meditation device. You can hold the stone and visualize all your dreams coming true or focus on a single wish or vision. You can further enhance its efficacy by rubbing it with a wishing oil like Aunt Anna's Wishbone Oil or Shaman Stone Wishing Oil while focusing on your desire.
This is a fantastic find! It is a deep grey, almost black, smooth volcanic stone, encircled by several yellow quartz lines in a striking pattern. One yellow quartz crystal line encircles it, making it a wishing stone. However, the top of the stone has a circle on it, and the line goes right through the circle. A circle with a line through it can mean a few different things. In Native rock art, the symbol is thought to be an attraction symbol. In hobo speak, the symbol represents a good road to follow. In alchemy, if viewed with the line going horizontal through the circle it represents salt. When viewed with the line going vertical, it represents nitre, which is an ancient Egyptian salt mineral used for embalming. Whichever meaning holds true depends on what feels right to you. I claim all of the meanings and more! Blessings received and ready to be passed on to you.
